What is the - Emergency Resource Database Project?
The ERD project is an opportunity for EAST students and ERD partners to help prepare rural communities for disaster/disease response and related mitigation planning support by leveraging the technical expertise found within the EAST initiative.
The EAST Initiative and its 4,000+ civic-minded students are valuable assets to our rural communities. Many EAST students have mastered geospatial technologies and maintain skills that are of great value to local first responder and emergency management teams. The goal of the ERD partnership is to identify interested EAST facilitators/students and develop collaborative efforts that will leverage their geospatial skills to assist local emergency support staff.
